Tame her tangled hair.
Paint her lips a pleasing coral.
Sweeten her to sate
a sugar craving tongue.
She is alabaster clay,
bloodless at the wrists.
Her finger dipped in gold
hardens in the sun.

You have amazing imagery in this one! You certainly do create a mood.
Oh la la... :)
Oh la la... :)
So good I signed it twice?? Think I hiccuped .. haha
wow really good...wonderful imagery in this mz...something about that golden finger hardening in the end just grabs me....
Those last two lines are killer.
Now that's what I call TRULY impressionistic! A vivid picture here, MZ!
The statue, the golem, the animated clay...stepford band of gold hardening...the image is more terrifyingly real so softly brushed.
I immediately thought of Venus de Milo who has no arms as they were never found and who is unpainted but much viewed there in the Louvre where the filtered light of Paris manages her curves and shadows. Her finger may well be dipped in gold somewhere on an Aegean island. Terse but well stated..very poetic.
If this is not a doll/sculpture you have made, beware! She may seek blood from someone very near.
bloodless in the wrist - YIKES!
Seriously...her finger hardens the sun?...wow. Nice.
This is G O O D!
She may have been the goddess of love and beauty but she also was no pushover and held great powers of persuasion... I like that most about her!
What a beautiful statue. Too bad she's not living.
These are my favorite lines:
"bloodless at the wrists.
Her finger dipped in gold
hardens in the sun"
I wonder what this "gold" is that causes such a hardening reaction.
It's a good thing she's alabaster clay and bloodless at the wrists. Otherwise, she might slit them. Hardening herself in the sun is certainly a better option. :)
Very nice!
cuoool! this is at once dramatic and clarifying. strong and potent piece of work!
Exquisite imagery in here!!

nicely imaged. Love the word choice as well, pleasing coral, sate, sugar craving, alabaster. All really interesting descriptions, really maximizing on poetic effect. Nicely done MZ. Thanks
oh i CAN see her... very cool mz

Oooh, this is intriguing... Painting her up and sealing her in... Interesting....
She loves and leaves them begging
Powerful... especially the ending.
Great imagery, MZ! Simple but fantastic words as an icing!

This paints a picture, and paints the lady. I like the blend of the two.
A lot of great description in so few words..well done.
Wow... I could see this painted on a canvas and it's beautiful!
Another great write, mz

Venus Aphrodite. Hihi! :-)
I couldn't decide between a painting or sculpture..."The Birth of Venus" came to mind. Beautiful images.
