When he's gone,
I take the air
deeper.
I unfold to fill
my natural space.
I reclaim my shadow.

Yep, that's the way to do it!
Let's hope he doesn't return then!
Ah, and so darkly beautiful you are when you unfold.
taking the air deeper...and unfolding my shadow...very cool piece mz...
Once a decision is made it is then a matter of resolve even if he returns. Otherwise others would not take one seriously! Nicely MZ

Well spake.
Well spake, indeed.
Sometimes another presence can make one feel rather cramped in one's allocated space.
I like the way you explore human relationships from many different angles in your poetry.
As aways wonderfully distilled and accurate. k.
All I can say .. after taking time this morning to dig deep into your poetry blog .. is how much I enjoy what you write, how you write. What an incredible way to begin my Saturday ... must stop to brew coffee! Wait, I haven't finished August yet!
So much said here....the reader can create his/her own backstory!
reminds me of the greeting, 'May your shadow never grow less." Some let us flourish and celebrate us, others find us raw material they may need to use. Makes a difference I think.
You capture so much in so few words. The poem is like ripples in a pool, ever expanding thoughts and understandings. You are a gift.
Hmmm... Mysterious. So much said in so few words.
That is beautiful and sad at the same time.
love, Love, LOVE this, MZ!
♥
Every word perfection.
Perfect
Not one word too many
Nor one too few
To express what so many understand
I like this one very much.
This reminds me of a girlfriend of mine who loves her husband to death but breathes such a sigh of relief when he leaves the house. He works from home, and she's a stay-at-home mom. Need I say more?
Great work, MZ.
Unfolding and reclaiming, both perfect descriptions for a process I know too well.
