Call me Miss D'Meanor.
I'm the method and the measure
between the girl who eats the apple
and the girl who bakes the pie.
Never wholly wholesome,
but less than average evil.
Call me Miss D'Meanor;
I'm how the middle makes a life.

Never wholly wholesome,
but less than average evil....ha...such fun word play...seriously this would fit a nice rap...
This is great! It's so hard to be so perfectly nice or devilish. That middle area is huge!
Yep, not good, 'cause none of us is a saint, not bad either...somewhere right in the middle... with a little sway one way or the other at times is balanced ;) Miss D'Meanor MZ
This is great !
I'm the method and the measure
between the girl who eats the apple
and the girl who bakes the pie.... i think that sounds quite balanced...smiles
This made me smile - a cool presentation of how we adapt, I think.
Ah, very clever and made me smile.
Had to read it twice ..
seems you might have been
describing me!
At least the me
I'd like to be!
A delightful poem!!!
Wonderful - devil or angel? As if one could be only one. :) Very fun.
I like it!

I think a lot of us feel this way inside. Extremes can be so unbecoming anyway, right?
I could sense a declaration of compromise here, of what needs to be, but also a joy in it, pride at navigating a middle way that is truly you. Nice!

Middle of the road is often the best! I enjoyed this.
this is definitely a fun little piece. the middle's not such a bad place to fall.
Fun write - middle is good - we can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Oh, yeah!! I do love this one!! You do make my day!!
Never wholly wholesome...that's the way to live. Love it!
LOVE this! And if I stay somewhere in the middle of the herd, I MAY not be eaten up by wolves and scavengers.
I have lived sometimes (too often) along the outer edges, TOO wholesome (HAHAHA!) and more often--well, occasionally--as the Bow EEVIL one!
FUN to be here tonight!
nice punch to this one
Fun. Well done.
What fun this is! Love the playful nature !
So playful! Love it!
Tasty in all ways. (My stepson really thought that word was spelled Mr. Meaner.)
You put words together lately as if they were your own jigsaw puzzle of sound. Only the right one fits in any given spot, and you placed each one so they sound like....this!
very witty lots and lots of multiple meanings - very cool - pretty mean with the math metaphors i mean above average uh, nevermind, i liked the wholly wholesome and eats and bakes oh heck liked the whole thing - you made me jealous - nice
These days, everyone knows a Miss Demeanor and most people know a Miss Take. Not you. Your poem wastes not a syllable, and I truly admire it!
This made me smile all over the place! the middle isn't so bad, right?
Tell me, mama, did you have your tongue planted very firmly in your cheek when writing this? A fun piece.
Pamela
Put a smile on the face -- a naughty girl making a pie.
never wholly wholesome... thats the best way isnt it?
This is freaking awesome, girl. You are so creative. I love it---every word.
I'm the method and the measure: YEP! for real :)
Truly clever!! I'm drooling, I love this poem so. You Rock!
Very clever. Just don't get caught. Miss D'Meanor mighty fined! k.
Best to offer an apple in a pie perhaps, before he takes a bite of what you have already tasted :).
This needs to be a song. And hit the charts!
Clever, fun and true.. This has it all!
Miss de Meanour and Miss de Nova seem to be travelling in the same
direction:)
Cressida de Nova
Hmm...like walking a train rail in an earthquake.
Cool write, mz
Great wit and wisdom in this...it seems like you've found a good place to be. This is one of those ideas where I say "...geez, I wish I thought to say it that way." Nice job!
Maybe not wholly wholesome...but delicious! cool coating a nugget of wisdom, thanks
incredible phrasing here. Love the middle and that whole idea and thought. The play on misdemeanor is fun, the apple/pie referencing is neat and the ending is quite effective. Great write. Thanks
love this! can totally relate.
