Every week or so, I meet the Other Me
for catch-up, compromise, and coffee;
it's how we keep the road not taken out of the weeds.
She holds a juris doctorate.
I hold a poet laureate
between dishpan hands.
She has skyscraper eyes and heels to match.
I have red dirt between my toes.
We are have and half.
Every week or so, I meet the Other Me
for catch up, compromise, and coffee.
I have my bones in a briefcase.
She has a baby on her hip.
It's how we keep the road not taken out of the weeds.

Another terrific one, MZ!! Ah, and it does say it all!! I do run into that "other me"!!!
I'm in LOVE with this point of view play... I can see them both, so different, so in tune with their own being, so proud of the other one, in full understanding that without one the other would be just half... even if they exist mostly apart. Yum!
Vivid dissection, and a stained glass microscope for examination of these split cells.
Oh goodness, this is just the sort of me that knows that one of you too.. It's often those morning chit chats over coffee that often many don't ever come to know, we always care to discuss with the other us!
If you share the briefcase of bones and the baby, you have the best of all possible worlds. In fact, I could almost feel sorry for the Other Me.
I LOVE this!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this, Mom Zee. It was so nice, enjoyable to the bones in the case, that I would love to have coffee with you.
Maybe you don't remember me well enough as your friend. But I do have a juris doctorate and I'd love to know a poet laureate better. Haha.
..
I love the lines that you chose to repeat and the other you imagined...awesome as always, MZ!!
Yep, that's what I was looking for. Thanks to both of you Scorpios.
Yeah, we do what we can. Like this a lot!

Love this, especially the first two lines and the repetition effect. Thanks for sharing your observations about you and yourself!

To meet for catch up, compromise and coffee made me laugh and felt familiar...
Love this..."bones in a briefcase" I also love the idea of catching up and compromising with one's self. Amazing as always
Terrific. I have jd too and two babies so resonates especially. K.
Awesome! I like them both ... 'we are have and half' (what a great line!)
"have and half" - damn, wish I'd written that ~
This is fantastic. I love that you at least traded places at the end, even if only in your imagination. Really excellent work.
