any balance
of labor and leisure.
We need her

to come here -
come in -
work-
spend-
but we send them back;
the blend's too brown,
too close to black,
down at the border.

It is not easy to look at the other face of the coin, particularly if you love your country.

Can't have that. Next thing you know, they'll want free "stuff", like dignity, a living wage, and hope. Who do they think they are?
