If all the stars
of a constellation fall
but one,
will that single star wrestle back
the black of night
alone?
Will it fire its fragment of heaven?
Will it shine in the remade sky?
Or without its constellation,
will it die?

Ah, I hope not!!! I love the stars! Hope your weekend is going well!
I hope it lives on.
Very thought provoking.
That ending is wrenching. I like this poem a lot.
Very contemplative... I'm hoping she lives and shines.
Beautiful! This is my third attempt at comment but the Poem is worth a thousand times! K. Manicddaily
To live together is a common tendency but to try to make a mark , on few bravehearts can do.
I Love the metaphor in this and especially the opening. Awesome, Mama Zen!
hope it lives...though very tough...but it's a star so it should..kudos to the thoughts..
A lonely star - what an image.. The metaphor is crystal clear,
Such an excellent and poetic question. Can any one thing stand alone against the blackness of oblivion? Is any light in the darkness enough?
I love the power of what one star can do ~ Powerful write MZ ~
Thanks for participating and wishing you happy week ~
I like this more every time I read it.
Stars they give us hope, we would be hopeless, no more wishing on a star...so sad
what if?
I cheer for the underdog...so I'm all for that lone star wrestling back the black night all alone. Beautifully posed questions.....and your post resonates with me too because of some similar language to mine (fragments of heaven, for example). Guess we both saw/felt something familiar in Salvatore's words :-)
stars are made to shine-thoughtful lines
That last line really strikes he heart..so beautiful
this is absolutely stunning! LOVE!
