Loose gravel and loose
morals got me in this ditch.
A warm beer and a
little leg might get
me out, but this is nowhere.
So, I kick back on
the tailgate, wish on
an early star, and let the
pumpjack rhythm get
under my skin and
simmer. The beer I'll just keep
for my own sweet self.

Wow, love this. The erotic here is subtle but hard hitting, the character sharp and rythmn unmistakable. Nice.

Great little scene- love the way you captured it and all in Haiku nonetheless. I wonder, if adhering to the form helped the piece move forward or needed to be worked around, because to me it seems like the piece is very fluid and you just nailed it without having to play around with the lines, to find the right word that fits, which I find myself needing to do much of the times I do this form. In any case- another nice piece, thanks for the read
