If we were lovers,
I would kiss you at red lights-
hard, thoroughly, and unhurriedly-
until cars backed and stacked
and curses blued the air
like vulgar, finely feathered
birds.
"Green means go
get a fucking room,
why dontcha?"
I'd lace my fingers with yours,
dangle my feet out the passenger window,
and let you drive me (mad)
to the next intersection.
If we were lovers,
I'd wear your old t-shirts
with heels and with diamonds
and without panties or plans to leave the house
on Saturday night
or Sunday morning.
If we were lovers,
I'd soak in you
like a hot bath
with vanilla lavender bubbles.

This makes me want to go on a long drive with my Mister.
Ah, this sounds like PURE BLISS!
dang...might need to print this out and leave it laying around....you know...
Oh. my.
This is sexy like nobody's business.
I'm a little short of breath!
I'm liking the lavender. Nice touch, girl.
This is steamin' hot.
Once, just once in a lifetime .. we all deserve this kind of mad, crazy love. Wowza ...
Smiles..hard to top this..wonderful!
Crazy....mad......beautiful! :)
Sensuous plus!
Wow ... this was so passionately steamy :-)
Sexy, steamy, cool!
I loved, loved this! Sexy and fun--
Exactly so!
Wowzers! Smokin'!
sorry sister...he's MY lover... well you know, in between the kids and the laundry and all the other stuff that happens in middle age... but STILL he IS my lover.
LOVE this poem... oozes those vanilla lavender bubbles!
this poem sucked me in,
made me want to live it,
and when it was over, i missed the time i spent in my imagination

"I would kiss you at red lights-

now THAT's the way to kiss!
♥
Sexy. SERIOUSLY, sexy.
I really like the freedom of this piece, mz. The high spirited playfulness as fuel for the "if"
And the cursing as vulgar birds was great.
(see~i told you i could behave)

whew...it's getting hot in here...love it...vanilla lavender bubbles...and... let you drive me (mad)
to the next intersection....heck...yes!!!
Oh! And this came close to happening to me once way back in high school. A girl was riding with me and getting really squirmy and had her hands between her legs. I stopped at a light, she bit her lower lip and smiled.
Then she opened the door, got out, squatted and pee'd. Right there on the street!
8 o'clock at night
She got back in and said, "sorry, i couldn't hold it any longer"
Your story, mz, is much hotter!

I'm not sure about the vanilla lavender, but the rest - the car - sounds pretty great! Very vivid! I love the honkers! k.

Delicious. You make traffic lights sound quite pleasant.
I really like the sound of "thoroughly" and "unhurriedly" close together like that. Also "backed" and "stacked."
Love the feet out the window and "drive me (mad)." Of course, your sans-panties plans are a perfect lead-in to the ending, where we are left imagining Part 2 of this story.
That hanging "IF" is sure a killer with bare hands and long, sharp fingernails.
Loved your post!
