I swallow uncertainty
like a pill.
Head thrown back.
Eyes clenched shut.
Throat closed in rebellion.
I swallow a pill
to like uncertainty
just a little more
than I like Mitt Romney,
high humidity,
or a pelvic exam.

I love the choice you made, the "horrible" things you lumped together.
Yep, I repeat all that Sioux has written! Perfect choices of horrible!! They're mine, too!!
hahaha love that last verse....might need that pill come november...yikes....
Oh my goodness, what a pill ~
Keep cool ~
Ah, if only we could choose the cures for the pills we devise!
I have a lot of pills to take every day. There is a lot of uncertainty in life and sometimes we do need those pills. I like what you said and I definitely hate high humidity.
Thanks for sharing such a great poem with us for this weeks Theme Thursday.
God bless.
Mitt Romney is from Michigan, but we asked him to leave.
Wow, almost spit my drink, out..lol
Great list by the way...
I have swallowed that bitter pill...
Very clever!
They make pills that big? My throat would be clenching, too. Actually, uncertainty is the opportunity for something not effed up to happen, I say. I mean--it could go either way, so why not? Certainty--now that scares me. Great tension under the humor in this,MZ.
Certainty that the pill is an unpleasant one.
neat poem. I happen to take so many pills, I often feel like I'm a walking pharmacy lol As for the uncertainty, whats even scarier than needing a pill for it, is the fact that after a while, you actually start getting numb to it, so I'll take that pill gladly. Great write MZ. Thanks
HIlarious!!! VERY fun read!

"I swallow a pill

Brilliant.

There is no one I despise more than Mitt Romney, so this was a great analogy.

haha...only watching us politics from afar but def. some seem a tough pill to swallow...smiles
You've made your choice MZ! There's a lot going for Romney I thought being a new blood. But somehow from readings even from others he falls short on things. Fun to see come Nov.
Great Write Ma'am!
Hank
Ha! Agreed. And I don't just mean about the difficulty of accepting uncertainty. It is one of the hardest things in life. But love the Romney joke here. (Agh.) k.
I agree. I like just about anything more than I like the things on your list. Even okra.
LOL Well said!
Yikes, spare me the pelvic exam!
Not much worse than Romney right now. Gonna be a bitter pill indeed if he wins. More like a poison pill for the country. As always, you lay it down like it is.
*giggle*
ok, I'm hooked!
except i like uncertainty, even the fear that whips it's horse
it's the mundane that makes me think of romney
-and the horses arse

I LAUGHED!
it's a hard pill to swallow
I have gotten over liking most uncertainty. The little surprises of life though (a smile, a new bud), along with major wins (like a Peace Prize rightly given or the Obama's winning the presidency)are very welcome.
...the alternative is much worse. Swallow the pill - it will do you good ;)
