I miss those deep connections to family....all now gone except my mom.....I am still her child as long as she lives.
See, this is why I love you and your work so much. You know the power of brevity.
I love this. I remember the feeling, once my grandma, then my mom died. Suddenly i was the matriarch, no longer someone's child. You have such a wonderful Grannie. Enjoy every minute. Get her to tell you all her stories and write them down. I wish i had done that.
straight to the heart
I have a mother clinging on... but it's going to be soon I fear. My mother in law is frail but living.
It does matter to be someones baby.
We must cherish our loved ones and spend time with them while we still can!
Wow, so much conveyed in so few words.
Precious!

There's such strength of feeling in that brief verse.
Awww.. that poem has a million stories in it!
Ah, lucky you!
As my father once told me when I was 31 years old, in need of shelter and feeling very much the failure "I don't care if you're 100 years old, you're always going to be my baby." Loved this poem.
This is so sweet!
i liked the emotions expressed here.
