a Working Class Union
was the Green Corn Rebellion
of whites, blacks, and Indians
draft dodgin' trash
saw a rich man's war
hid up on Spear's Mountain
and swore to resist
with dynamite and guns
all the way to DC
till a thousand man posse
hungry for justice
come to Seminole County
in August of '17

A world (and a poem) torn asunder.
This is a glimpse of some tough history. I like the voice in the poem, which feels authentic to those times. An intriguing poem, Kelli. An interesting format as well.
MZ--A little history lesson threaded through the poem? Angry citizens a hundred years ago... things haven't changed much.
An inspiring story – and the poem works beautifully wichever way one reads.
Stunning writing and such an interesting form.Is this a cleave?
The structure is perfect for the theme...
there is war brewing again in America, a century later. and pretty much the same antagonists, for the same reasons. ~
How history repeats itself, all over the world. A powerful poem that works however you read it.
Nothing ever changes without blood, it seems. In fact, it seems that in some ways nothing ever changes at all.
A cleave poem to highlight the cleaving in history -- form matching content. Well done!
