In the room where we do our living,
everybody has a chair;
Mama Bear, Papa Bear, Cub
(don't call her Baby Bear).
Mama Bear has a rocking chair
to rock back upright despite the news
on the TV that's always on
(she doesn't care for silence).
Papa Bear, when he's home at night, thrones
himself in leather and puts his feet up
(he's had a long day);
now, he's master of the remote.
The Cub (don't call her Baby Bear)
reluctantly rides the couch.
She's got better things to do,
but she's occasionally persuaded
by strawberry shortcake or guilt
to watch Law and Order with the elders.
Who killed Goldilocks?
(BOM-BOM!)
Just right.

Mama Zen--I lovedlovedloved the combination of fairy tale and the contemporary. (Law and Order--ha!)
Yeah, it's hard sitting upright these days...
I could picture the ehole scene and smiled at Cub, "dont call her BaBy Bear". Steph, my youngest of four, spent her early years insisting, "NODDA baby!" Lol.
This is kinky as hell, MZ.
Fairy tale characters juxtaposition with Law and Order, I relly like that. Thanks for another fine read.
Rocking back upright despite the news... without that rocking chair maybe she'd be flat out. Cool poem, MZ.
Yeah... that's the way it is!
Oh gosh such a cool poem MZ!❤️
Wonderful ... BOM BOM.
Very powerful message....so nicely written!!
bom bom! This poem is so very good and it is fun. I love the different places people sit, especially Cub...nope, she's not baby bear!
Offer a deal! Get this off my desk, McCoy...
I have a peculiar dis-affinity for that bom-bom, which it turns out played a role in bomb-bombing my marriage. uninteresting story on my part; whereas yours is vivid in detail ~
