Stories start
with sympathetic vibrations,
shared suns,
and revolutions;
it's second chapters
that just might change
your life.
Middles are more
of a muddling through
anarchy -
all you didn't do -
and feeling your way at the fray-
ing edge
of hindsight
to the half-past midnight
of the bitter end.

WOW! I am thunderstruck at how apt and brilliant this is. The second chapter that just might change one's life, the muddling through, all we didn't do........"the fraying edge of hindsight". Whew! You know how to use your words!
I know you'll understand, so... holy fuck, this was excellent! Among the great lines:
"the fray-
ing edge
of hindsight"
Wow.
Oh the damnation of hindsight... and I really wanted a happy end.
noo..... not the bitter end. Not after all THAT muddling ...
This is incredibly powerful! Especially; 'the fray-ing edge of hindsight' gave me goosebumps!!
I sat beside this at the bed of death. All I could do was listen and warn others.
Muddling. That's exactly what I am doing. Sigh!
MZ--Those last five lines are especially amazing.
yes the second chapters!!!
feeling this one especially close tonight, MZ. thank you ~
Oh Mama Zen, this poem just slapped me in the face and I felt it sting!
I can certainly relate to muddling through and the bitterness. Well done.
I tend to luv the start, with fresh new feelings and deeply enjoyed your description of this adventure
"with sympathetic vibrations,
shared suns,
and revolutions;"
much love...
To paraphrase Blake.
To see a World in a poem.
And a Heaven in a story.
Hold Infinity in the pages of your book.
And Eternity in this all.
Brilliant.
You're such a cool poet. I wish you would post more often.
