Blessed
is the girl
who when bit by a small dream
swats it
like a mosquito
a bloodsucker
She is fluent
in verbs and deaf
to the usual
cautions
Blessed
is the girl
who spits the bit
and breaks the bones
of riders
She grows old
and fat with memory
or dies young
the stuff of songs

Love your words and your sharp humour. Your words made me smile and I am not sure that was your intention. Your words a brilliant observation of what is - if we're strong enough.

I love this:
"Blessed
is the girl
who spits the bit
and breaks the bones
of riders"
Wonderful wordage.
She does seem so filled with hope and youth and she would only embrace big dreams... her face is not one of small dreams... I can't imagine her growing fat and old. She really is the "stuff of songs" I adore that.
We have the picture. Then we have your words. Isn't it always the case?
Blessed be that girl! Perfect any way you look at her. You described grit so well
Dump the rider/master and get control, be the free spirit you were born to be. Nice, Mom Zee
..
"Blessed is the girl" Wonderful poem to go with that picture.
Oh nice!!!
Much love...
a kind of courage and adventure...ah stuff of songs!
Alas yes.. dreams are usually the worst... the world is made for verbs.
You've described my kind of girl. Well done.
I dont know which is preferable. I like being old and fat. But those remembered are the stuff of songs. This is gorgeous and I love the painting too.
She does seem to be right on the verge of a dream journey. We never know what will come when it wrinkles.
fluent and smart ~
