at the corner of Flood and Tonhawa
a mohawked man with a Mountain Dew
statues in the middle of the street
and dares oncoming traffic
four blocks north
stands a bed and breakfast
to destress you
all you can afford
there's a shitty little shack
with a yard full of junk and a sign
offering something for nothing
in the library
homeless ladies gossip
rest their feet
and praise the Lord

Oh this is wonderful! I can't pick a favorite part. Small town living, nothing like it. Thanks for writing!
I love the mohawk/Mountain Dew man.
You have made we want to go there just to see it for myself! :-)
full of flavor. local color
Gotta love the Mohawk, Mountain Dew man!
Luv these little vignettes
Much love...
So very different from anything I see... Love how what's ordinary for you is exotic for me... It takes keen eyes to see and defamiliarize to be able to pen it for us to see.
Love this! Such gorgeous little vignettes, MZ ❤️
Your eye for detail makes me wonder about each life being lived by the strangers around me.
