We were
young,
witty,
sexy,
and straight off the showroom floor.
We had that new girl smell,
and we were hard as hell
to handle.
Then,
one became a mother.
One took a married lover.
One joined a faux ashram downtown.
We got cracks in the glass,
droops in the ass,
and engines making funky clunk sounds.
Quality control was slipping.
All our warranties had been let slide.
Wheels, years, and odometers rolling -
from latest models to classic rides.

LOVE your take on this one, Mama Zen...a humorous spin...fun to read! :)
haha...happens to the best of us...and we can hope to become classics on the showroom floor, or pampered but who really wants to live under a cover and only come out once a year...
I really enjoyed this...that new girl smell!
Fantastic picture painted with your words.
Oh, I do love and relate to this one, MZ!! Thanks for the smiles!!
Such a short trip from Young and Happening to my age where it has all Already Happened. Hee hee. Enjoy the ride, kiddo. You have lots of miles on your odometer yet!
Love the spin MZ, it happens to all of us ~ Here's to more classic rides ~
I love the new girl smell, like new car smell. And the faux ashram!
New girl smell...been a long time since I had that..lol Love your take on the image. I am on the classic model lot myself. :)
Ha! Herein lies the story of so many lives, from new girl smell to classic rides.
You've got to wonder about a store that actually advertises its goods as mass produced!
I liked the new girl smell and hard as hell to handle! Evn if we lose the first, I hope we keep the second!
hehe, just love it! Great:-)
Love it, I've always preferred classics
Such a great poem! Takes a lot of work to keep up that quality control!
Aha, I love this. Laughed and laughed.
K
Oh my gosh, I love this.
Great write, mz
Bur personally, i'd rather fly off the curve at 140 and show an oak tree what for before being polished and driven by some rich geezer in the classics parade.
Jus sayin
I love the "cracks in the glass droops in the ass" lines.
So funny and sadly, so true.
Ha ha ... I really loved the way you weaved it up !!!
On the news tonight they mentioned that of the people in America who are over 100, 80% are women, and all of them live in the South. I just said "Noooooo!" I want my new girl smell back, and who the hell is running quality control around here anyway? Thanks for making me see the less grim side of that odometer, MZ.
Love this! I remember when I had that "new girl" smell..damn!
