you tell me to give.
You give me what
you want me to have.

Ouch!
what you want me to have...dang...not cool...
Sounds like there should be a red line painted on the middle of the bridge.
Oh, ouch indeed!!!
I like this MZ~
That first stanza like a punch right in the diaphragm. Great stuff.
I used to get a cheque from a certain member of my family every birthday and Christmas. I used to think it was so impersonal and uncaring ...until I got the thoughtful gifts. I should never have said anything.
...and on to the next year and next Christmas where very little will probably change. This is seriously heavy.
great write on the whole gifting process. Love it MZ. Thanks
this reminds me of my mother! {shudder} great write, MZ!
wishing you a new year full of happy surprises, love, laughter, hugs and smiles!

Ooo.
Ouch.
And *my* mother, too.......
Egads, but that is beautifully carved with the wrapping paper scissors......
:)
Very clever. I love the double meaning in your closing line.

to the point and well done.
This is as stark and sharp as a knife blade.
(a knife blade wrapped carefully in tissue paper.)
ugh...it often is just like that...sad...
Ouch! Someone send that girl a dozen long stemmed roses immediately!
Not much joy in that...
This describes so many relationships. And, yes, ouch.
it shouldn't be so, MZ, but i'm afraid it's far more common than we know.
good stuff
